Leeds Print Fair

Hello! I am excited to share that I will be sharing a stand at Leeds Print Fair this year with fellow LCA Surface Pattern students Amy Hodkin and Millie Empson. It is a two day event this year from the 5th and 6th of November, so the full bonfire weekend.
I started to print some work last week, and at the fair I will be selling some Lino printed gift wrap and cards, as well as A5 prints and A6 digitally printed cards.
It will be lovely to see some old and new faces there, it was so fun to visit the fair last year, but I am super excited/nervous to be selling at it this year! Eeeek :)

Rad Studio

On Tuesday I spoke a bit about the wonderful RADSTUDIO! shop in Saltaire, but felt that this shop deserves its own post (I wrote about them from my last visit in October here) as I took A LOT of photos.

Everything in there is so lovely and super dreamy. Their stock ranges from Corby Tinderstick prints, Meri Meri bunting, Bobo Choses kids clothes, to plants, arm chairs, lights and cushions as well as stationery, fragrances and books. It is the cutest shop and I am glad I popped in and treated myself (to this Meri Meri bunting, I <3 it!).

LCA Surface Pattern Degree Show 'Made Here'

I visited the LCA degree show this week, and was overwhelmed and also super proud of how fabulous my course Printed Textiles & Surface Pattern is! If you missed the chance to see the degree show you can visit New Designers part one in London at the end of the month (from the 29th June until the 2 July!) to see the lovely work in real life as pictures really do not do it justice, it is all even more fabulous in *person*!

I thought seen as I only have two full months of living in this house I should take a few pictures to remind me of my room here.

Placement in London

I got back from London on Saturday, a week early due to several reasons but mainly because my rent came out early which left me minus on the money situation, which isn't great in London.
What an experience those two weeks was. When it came to public transport everything that could of gone wrong did!!

Hello Spring!

HOORAY 'first day of spring'.... and it has rained for most of the day and apparently it is meant to snow tomorrow, *sigh* to British weather!
On the bright side I have been using lots of bright colours and learnt new dying techniques so I currently have rainbow coloured hands.

Paris: Day 3, Wednesday.

Day 3

Wednesday

This was our last full day to do things before we went to the trade show on thursday, so we made the most of it!

- Starting the day off sight seeing at the Louvre with lovely macaroons.

Paris: Day 2, Tuesday.

Day 2

Tuesday

We started the day off by visiting:

- Musee d'Orsay. Great for the architecture and historical pieces of art. It is in a super fancy area which was great to be in considering our hostel was in a bit of a run down, dodgy place.

Busy Bee

The live brief fortnight is now over and although I can't show my work online yet I am quite happy with what I have produced!
I really enjoyed working for a Greetings and paper based outcome.

I have also been finishing up my final fabrics that I will be taking to Paris two weeks today (EXCITING).

New Find!

I am back in Leeds after the Christmas break and I finally got to visit the wonderful new Fred Aldous shop. It is AMAZING. I have never visited one of these shops before, but heard a lot of good things about it and it lived up to its expectations and more.

Designing a collection

For the past week I have been developing my collages from the last project into patterns that will be made into fabric that we then take to Indigo at Premiere Vision in Paris to sell to companies (hopefully!!). I am designing mine for the market of newborn to 2 years old due to the naive, playful style of work that I produce.
