All of the lovely creative bloggers <3 |
I moved back to Leeds for my second year of university, and travelled to London with Amy - The Creative Outlook for the London Graphic Centre blogger event (which was my first ever event!).
It was so great to meet lots of like minded creatives and they were all so lovely and down to earth.
Also, I was secretly being a bit of a fangirl over Hello Harriet whos work (that is iconically known for the temporary cat tattoos) I love. I think it might have something to do with the products being very cat related... *You are a crazy cat lady Jodie* - who said that?!?
Anyway, creative bloggers were invited along to take a first glimpse at the new design for their tote bag. Across it states 'This is not a pencil' and Graphic Designer Alex Widdowson talked us through the brief, explaining that he wanted it to portray an Art school vibe and was inspired by Rene Magritte, a surrealist articulate that was famous for the quote 'Ceci nest pas use pipe'/This is not a pipe. And ironically placing it next to an image that is very clearly a pipe, so basically making you think well it clearly is, and getting you to use it.
He wanted to go back to 20th Century Graphics but also make his own personality and style (as his business card has a pencil on it and his blog is named 'Led for Brains', which is a small play on words that is humble yet still references drawing.) come through.
The bag design |
You can get your hands on one of these bags and the wonderful goodies inside AND 15% discount @LGC if you go a long to the Student Day on the 6th October at London Graphic Centre in Covent Garden.
Some of the finest supplies from LGC's top suppliers! |
As well as the tote bag we got the opportunity to try out a few workshops such as Screen Printing, Letter Stamps & colouring in with new Windsor & Newton pens (that are not even out yet so shh...!) and generally mingle with the rest of the bloggers. It was such a great night and super fun.
Also, everyone that works at London Graphic Centre is in the creative industry and educated in the Arts themselves so this made them really interesting to talk to!

Letter stamps (that you can customise with the individual letters by placing them in the yellow holders, great for business cards and letters.) |

ADORABLE AND FLUFFY |
Overall it was such a fun evening, especially for my first blogger event!
P.s. Don't forget, all of you fellow students out there should visit on the 6th of October to get yourselves one of these tote bags, discount and high quality goodies, as well as a chance to look at how heavenly this shop is. If you like stationery, this is the place to go. It is literally like an Aladdin's cave. Amazing.
